The Last time I spent a decent chunk of time on Enshrouded, was when I took an evening wandering about the local forest collecting stone and wood and plant fibre. I wasn’t farming to upgrade, I was trying to increase my storage space on my backpack so I could carry more things. You see, I was in the middle of some renovations on a run down small house I had discovered on the edge of some of the Shrouded lands and I wanted to do it up. Build some walls, put a roof on the thing. I added a fireplace and gave my blacksmith somewhere to sleep. I left a gap in the ceiling to possibly add a ladder later for a second floor. I already noticed there’s a basement on my property that I can expand into, possibly needs secured, because it continues outside my boundary. Luckily there’s a lot of stone around so I can build a wall and secure them quite nicely. I’ve already made plans you see. Like the best video games I’ve played. Like Breath of the Wild, or Minecraft, or even Elden Ring. I’m thinking about where I want to go, what I want to see, and potential what enemies I want to fight against in the shroud below. Those are big names to place against a new title but they’re warranted, because I’m thinking with the time I’ve played and the time that I would want to play, that this is something very special indeed. The fact I’m base building instead of main lining the story, means to me that the world itself is something that is worth exploring, and that the tools and mechanics your given are sound. Please continue to read on if you want to know more, but maybe save yourself some time and add this to a wish list of your choice. I’m not finished with this review, and I’m going to add to it over the next couple of days..
Stay tuned as this is a bit of a living and breathing document. I’m going to add more as we go.Â
