Feather Party is like a work in progress and it isn’t fully released for another two months, so that makes it difficult to give any definitive critical feedback as things could change between me writing this and the game being fully out there. There’s clearly been a large amount of care and attention paid to both the gameplay and the graphical presentation and you get a Fall Guys kind of feel as you play some of the games. As per normal with these things, Feather Party is going to live or die based on the number of players that find and play it.
I’m probably going to come back and update this piece once the game is out in the wild and fully released.

Game Modes
Board Game Mode: A “Mario Party meets Monopoly” style experience. Players navigate a board over 15 rounds, with a minigame occurring after each round. Simple familiar fun, not taxing or complicated and very likely to appeal to those
Minigame Rotation: A faster-paced mode where players compete in a randomized selection of minigames. The first player (chicken) to reach 15 points wins.
Gameplay Mechanics
Minigame Variety: The game features a solid selection of standard party game staples, including:
Racing and Mini-golf.
Football
Last Hen Standing: Survival-based games.
Spotlight: A specific mode where players must stand in a moving light to collect points while dodging lightning and other players.
Combat: Birds are equipped with a “peck attack,” allowing players to disrupt their friends and weaponize their “cuteness” during games.
Interactive Lobby: The waiting area has a lot of interactive stations to keep players entertained while waiting for a match to start.

Technical Features
Multiplayer Support: The game supports both playing with friends and joining servers online.
Relatively low system requirements, though I’m not surprised at this considering the game the game has gone for simpler over complicated in terms of graphics, assuming to help the online play be as seamless as possible.
The Story So Far??
The minigames are familiar to anyone who has played these kind of party games in the last ten years. Its a game clearly designed to not tax or particularly push the boat out, and so it will serve those who aren’t looking for innovative and different. Its almost like a comfort food kind of party game. It comes with a massive caveat as plenty of additional features are likely to be rolled out not only before launch but potentially with additional patches.
