Richard was a big fan of Joyride, from playing it for the first time at Tabletop Scotland to it making his Game of the Year list, I’ve actually been surprised that we’ve had to wait this long for Rebellion to push the button on the next level of gameplay. This time including those delicious looking miniatures, that cover previous versions of the games. Plus some additional content that is only available through Rebellion directly. Here’s hoping the sheer amount of content won’t dilute what was a very pure wreck and race game. Check out the official press release below.

“STOP THE PRESS – WE’RE OPENING UP THE GARAGE! For the first time ever, Joyride is hitting the table with custom miniatures for every car in the series, both new and old. These slick sculpts will be available through the Joyride: Full Throttle Gamefound campaign, each one finished with an eye catching ink wash to make the details pop straight out of the box. Whether you’re a long time Joyrider or just pulling up to the starting line, this is your chance to take the wheel in style.

Full Throttle keeps the same high-octane gameplay that players already love while expanding the player count to six. It introduces a brand-new Team Mode, letting players pair up for 2v2 or 2v2v2 races. The aim? Work together to shuttle your Super Fan around the track as fast as possible, swapping them between your cars mid-race. On top of that, the new Portal mechanic allows you to slingshot through glowing gateways, pulling off daring shortcuts or even linking multiple maps to create custom mega circuits.

Players will be burning rubber across 20 new tracks spread over two vibrant maps: the sun-soaked Beachfront Boardwalk and the neon-drenched Abandoned Mall. Add in powerful new items, dangerous obstacles, and artwork from acclaimed comic book artist Ant Williams (Marvel, DC, 2000AD), and this is the biggest Joyride yet. Best of all, Full Throttle is fully compatible with previous Joyride titles, so you can mix and match cars, items, and tracks to your heart’s content.”
